ABA Routing Number Database & Verification System
Instructions
for installing our MySQL Dump File.
This format
is designed for those familiar with setting up and accessing
MySQL Databases.
Initial
Setup:
If you are
setting this up for the first time, you will need to do the
following....
-
Set up a
MySQL file on your server. If you don't know
how, then you can get your ISP to set one up for
you. If you don't have an account that includes SQL,
you can obtain an account at Cramer
Hosting Services that will suit your needs and your
budget.
-
Optimally,
you should call this Database "abadata", to
make your modifications minimal, as the table column names
are already defined, but you can make it what you wish.
This will give you a database name, similar to
'[username]_abadata'
-
Download
and install the MySQL Database dump to your computer,
where you can find it again.
Open it with a text editor, such as Notepad -
Notepad is best, because you can resave the data back into
it's original format when you finished the modification.
-
Scroll down
to around line #19 and look for the following statement
--
-- Database: `youracct_abadata`
--
Change 'youracct' with the username of your hosting
account. If you have other mysql databases, then it
will be the same prefix as those.
If you leave the database name [abadata] as is, then you
don't have to change anything else, otherwise, change the
'_abadata' to what ever you call the database.
Remember, the format must be 'username_databasename'.
-
That should
be all the changes necessary.
When saving it in Notepad, make sure you select "All
Files" before clicking the save button, or it
will simply save it as a txt file, and you will need to
resave it to import it into your Database..
-
Now, go to
your phpMyAdmin, select your new database, then select the
"Import" link at the top, select "Go"
and that should import all the data and update all the
fields.
-
When
Updating your database with a new version, it will be done
the same way, as it will re-write your DB completely,
making the necessary changes. You will need to
modify the header before importing it.

Note
- The ABA Routing numbers we compile are ACH related, and are
always in a state of flux. This is the primary reason we
issue updates. |
